Archival Tapes

The high tensile strength of this quality, water activated hinging tape will support all but the heaviest works of art. The paper is acid-free with a calcium carbonate buffer and a pH of 8.5. The neutral pH adhesive has excellent tack to hold firmly without slipping or ''creeping''. Not recommended with photographs and Giclee inkjet prints because of their sensitivity to water.

Hayaku is a Japanese Mulberry Paper coated with acid-free water activated adhesive. This extremely strong, long fibered hinging material saves both time and money. It is used for hinging work of art on paper. A favorite of professional picture framers, the adhesive dries strong and won't creep. Not recommended with photographs and Giclee inkjet prints because of their sensitivity to water.

Lineco Archival corners are used to securely hold photos and artwork to the backing board under window mats without using any adhesive on the artwork This Full View corner size is best used with artwork that has at border or margin of 11/16" or more. The 3” corner is excellent for very large artwork or photos that are matted. One can also use the 4" mount strips to support the top, bottom and sides of the artwork.

Tyvek tapes are recommended for sealing the back of frames when doing final fitting. They have a pressure-sensitive, permanent acrylic adhesive which will not tear like traditional brown kraft paper used in the framing industry.

Abaca.sa is a self-adhesive hinging tape with a very strong acrylic adhesive that is permanent and non-yellowing for hinging works on paper. Because Abaca is self adhesive it is safer to use on photographs and Giclee ink jet prints which are sensitive to water.

3M's Double Sided Tape is used to attach our 1/4" wood spacers.
